John F Sullivan - 4/8/1946 to 1/18/2018

John F Sullivan of Hillsboro, OR passed away on January 18 , 2018 after fighting a longbattle with esophageal cancer. He was born to John Cecil Sullivan (Col Retired) and IlaGraves (Lockhart) Sullivan on April 8, 1946 at Fort Benning, Georgia. His father was in theAir Force, so a good portion of John’s youth was spent traveling. The family finally settled in Moses Lake, Washington where John graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1964.He attended Washington State University before enlisting in the Army and served 2 tours inViet Nam.

John managed a Snelling & Snelling Employment Agency office in Seattle prior to moving his family to Beaverton, Oregon in 1976. For the last 40 years John has worked in the low-voltage electric industry including 15 years with Bachofner Electric before starting his own business (E.C.T.) Electric Communication Technology.

John had an adventurous spirit. He raced hydroplanes for several years, before moving onto other activities. He loved bowling, fishing, golfing and Go-Kart racing. He and his wife made numerous trips to Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica, and Alaska.

John is survived by his wife, Judith Sullivan; daughter, Nancy Self (Mesa, AZ); son, Donnie Sullivan (Aloha, OR) and brother, Kenneth Sullivan (Kirkland, WA). Grandchildren:Brandon Self, and Damon Self of Bend, OR, Zane Self of Mesa, AZ; Hailey Sullivan, and Bradley Dornan-Sullivan, Aloha, OR. He also has numerous nephews and nieces.

John will be greatly missed by the many friends he made throughout his life. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to either the American Cancer Society or St. Jude CancerResearch.
