Portland Karting Association will be closing the MAC track on May 14 to start construction that will add 2 turns to the highly popular track which will provide more opportunity for passing and also allow for additional track configurations. Also, PKA will be repairing some rough areas and repaving areas to bring the track up to PKA and our racer's expectations.

The Northwest IKF Gold Cup/RotaxMax Challenge Series kicks off its Hi-Revving, wheel-to-wheel season opener April 27, 28, 29 at Horn Rapids Raceway Park in Tri-Cities, WA. Hosting the opener is the Tri-Cities Kart Club who will be using the event as a "Tune-Up" to they prepare for the 2012 International Kart Federation 4 Cycle Sprint Grand Nationals July 11-14 of this year.

PKA Board of Directors last month voted on a trial program to reduce the Junior Road Race entry fee from $85.00 to $60.00 to encourage all of the Junior racers to come out to ORP and PIR to try their hand at road racing.

Racers attending the Race on Sunday March 23rd all commented on how nice the track and facilities have improved and are becoming a much more of clean park like setting. The weather held out till the last checker flag flew for the first race of the 2012 OSKCS season and there was plenty of action throughout the day.

John Sullivan has announced that there will be Practice on Friday May 4th at the ORP (Oregon Raceway Park) before the first IKF Region 6 Gold Cup Road Race. John has made special arrangements with ORP to host the private practice for all interested Road Racers Veterans and Novice alike. Read on for practice form details.

The CMC/SwissHutless team will be out of town at the Gatorz race at Calspeed in California. Make sure you get all your needed Karting supplies such as fuel and tires from CMC by Tuesday March 27th. Don will be on the road and unavailable starting Wednesday March 28th.

The location of the first 2012 OSKCS Race this weekend March 24-25 has been changed to PKA's MAC Track in McMinnville. Unfortunately with the latest batch of rains and snow fall, The Pudding River has overflowed and has put Turn 1 at PARC under water. Chris Eggers has requested a trade of locations for race #1 and race #3 of the OSKCS series. So with that the First race of the Series will be at PKA's MAC Track March 24-25 and Race #3 April 22nd will be at PARC instead of MAC. Please tell all of your friends and competitors so that everyone will be able to attend. The weather is looking good and it should be a great start of the season.
