Annual PKA Night Race is a GO Post date: Aug 11, 2011
Annual PKA Night Race is a GO

PKA's annual night race is a go for Saturday Night August 20th. This will be race #7 of the OSKCS race series ran jointly with PARC. The night race is a favorite of the local racers giving a whole different feel of the track and facilities of the MAC Track. The night race will be ran in a clockwise(reverse) with whole bunch of action right in front of the crowd on the front straight away. Gates open at 2:00PM on Saturday with practice starting at 3:00PM Qualifying at 5:00PM The PKA board was left with a big decsision in promoting the night race as the additional cost for renting the Lights has made the night race prohivative. This year is no exception as the rental rates have gone up. Luckly a couple of club sponsors have stepped in to help with a portion the cost. Even with help of a couple of sponsors PKA is still a bit short on covering the cost of the lights for the race but chose to go ahead the race as it is one of the favorite races of the season for the racers. PKA is hoping a good number of the racers will donate a few extra dollars at the race and hope to get another sponsor or two to help defray the costs. If you would like to help out contact Mike Schorn 503-702-8244 or any member of the PKA BoD to help make the annual night race a success

N.W.Gold Cup Iame / Rotax Shootout Round #1

To stir things up and add a little zip and zing, the NW Gold Cup decided to try a shootout, an Iame versus Rotax shootout. Since the division of TAG and ROTAX there has been a lot of Hubbub about which one is the fastest. It is a good ole’ straight up shootout. Rules?, simple. Qualify in your respective class that time is used to determine your starting spot... tires that were raced on are the tires started on in the shootout. It brought in some of the best, 14 solid performers some with national recognition, others with solid regional competition recognition. It would not disappoint.
